Contractors Recognizing Excellence in Safety Training (CREST)

 

Objective

To encourage and recognize excellence in training.

We Seek To

Honor contractors by giving international recognition to those companies that lead an effective safety program throughout the year.

Eligibility

  • All FCA members' completed applications will be automatically submitted in the local Affiliate awards progam.
  • Members must designate their local Affiliate to be eligible.
  • Companies having membership in multiple Affiliates may submit a completed application for each designated Affiliate.
  • Companies having membership in multiple local Affiliates are eligible in each Affiliate but will only be submitted once in the FCA CREST Awards program.
  • If there is not a local Affiliate, the contractor application is submitted directly to FCA.
  • Individual contractor members of FCA may apply in only one category.

 

Deadlines

  • January 1, 2012 – Call for Entries Begins
  • March 9, 2012 – Registration Closes including Deadline for Receipt of of Submission Materials
  • May 17, 2012 – CREST Awards Banquet at  the FCA 2012 Annual Council in Hawaii

Categories

It is necessary to designate entries by one category. Companies performing under more than one of the following categories must submit based on the category in which a majority of work is performed during the award year. In the judging, equal emphasis is given to the following categories based on annual man hours and total recordable cases. An award winner is chosen on the basis of the following categories:

  1. Architectural Glass & Metal
  2. Floor Covering
  3. Drywall Finishing
  4. Industrial Coating
  5. Painting & Wallcovering
  6. Sign & Display

Each category is divided up by the following hours worked and one winner is selected for each of the following ranges:

  • 1-25,000 hours
  • 25,001-50,000 hours
  • 50,001-100,000 hours
  • 100,001-150,000 hours
  • More than 150,000 hours

 

Submission Materials

Submission materials, which are due March 9, 2012, include:

  • A minimum of three and a maximum of six digital photos representing your company's safety compliance program. (digital format preferred)
  • Company logo. (digital format only)

 

Awards and Recognition

All entries are recognized at the CREST Awards Banquet at the FCA Annual Council meeting. Entries selected win the CREST Award. One entry may be selected by the Chairman of FCA to receive the CREST Chairman’s Award. The CREST Chairman’s Award recognizes the contractor who has taken his or her current safety program to new heights.

In addition, FCA presents the CREST Partnership Award for the labor representative who provided support to the winning companies in their safety efforts. These individuals are recognized at the LMCI’s annual Finishing Industries Forum following FCA's Annual Council.
