New NLRB Employee Rights Poster
On Thursday, August 25, 2011, the NLRB issued a NEW RULE requiring management to post notices about employee rights to unionize, collectively bargain, and strike under the National Labor Relations Act. The NLRB will design and distribute the notice. The deadline for having this information posted and available for your employees is Tuesday, January 31, 2012..
The poster must be at least 11" x 17" in size. The government has made the poster available to all and you can download it to print (on 11" x 17" paper) by clicking here. You can also find a FAQ on the new rule by clicking here. Although this new requirement is being challenged in the courts, it still remains the law of the land at this juncture.
Note that the NLRB cannot enforce this legislation unless invoked by a union petition or an unfair labor practice allegation.
